Welcome to Graff Ventures

I appreciate that you stopped by to learn more about how to bring the Power of the Web YOUR way, with my help of course! One of the best ways to grow your business and become more profitable, is to bring in more customers. Businesses most often benefit from getting professional assistance to achieve that goal. I am here to help bring those new customers to your door. First, allow me to frame some background, starting with important definitions and how they relate to you.

What is “business development”?

There are many methods and paths you can follow to grow a business. Growth is easiest to define as:

  • new products or services – supplementing or complementing current offerings with additional offerings, and even branching out into something completely different.
  • new customers for existing products or services – also referred to as business lead generation, including finding and reaching out to new customers, and generating more repeat business

Business development encompasses both of these points and all of their meanings. My methods include brain-storming and out-of-the-box analysis of possibilities to align with your business ambitions and goals. We’ll plot those and map the steps needed to achieve them.

What is “marketing”?

Countless definitions of the term “marketing” can be found, analyzed, applied, and even debated. Reviewing one or more of them will likely help your understanding of what your business needs in order to grow. I  particularly like this definition of “marketing”:

The process of planning and executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational goals. (Philip Kotler and Kevin Lane Keller, Marketing Management, Twelfth Edition, Upper Saddle River NJ: Pearson Prentice Hall, 2006)

Lets use it to understand how marketing applies to your situation, and how I can help you grow your business. First of all, “planning and executing” is elementary to successfully completing this process. Without it, your steps won’t be organized, and many of them will likely be wasted. When boiled down to its essence, your business is all about “ideas, goods, and services” in some form.

Your business is what people come to you to get. Marketing is all about how you conceive of, price, and promote what those people are looking for, and putting the result of that effort in front of them in a way that attracts and appeals to them. Once this far into the process, you close the deal  and “create an exchange” that is mutually beneficial to that customer and to you. That customer achieves his/her “individual” goal by having a need fulfilled, and you achieve your “organizational” goal of gaining more/new business and the resulting revenue.
